Four things a knock-off cannot copy
Volume is a
decision, not
an accident.
The back tie does the fitting
A functional drawstring gathers the centre back to your torso length — not to a size chart's guess. Cinch it for shape. Leave it loose for drift. Sizing stops being a gamble.
Air, not fabric
Slub-woven and breathable. It falls away from the hip instead of clinging to it, so the only thing between you and 34° heat is moving air.
Nothing to negotiate with
Wide-set double straps and a deep U-back mean stick-ons or nothing at all. No band across your ribs. No shapewear. No holding your stomach in at dinner.
Cut on-grain. Hem stays level.
Cheap maxis twist at the hem after the first wash and hang crooked forever. This one is cut with the weave, so the fall stays vertical and the hem stays parallel to the floor.

Movement is the proof
Photographs
flatten it.
Walking
doesn't.
Structured fabric fights your body. This one travels with it — unbroken vertical columns from the neckline gather to the floor, which is exactly why the silhouette reads long instead of wide.
You will notice it first on stairs. Then in wind. Then in every photograph anyone takes of you that week.
The open back
Cut to the
waist. Held
by a knot.
The deep U drops to the natural waist and stops there — low enough to be the point of the dress, high enough to walk into a restaurant in.
The visible tie is not trim. It is the closure, the fit mechanism, and the reason this hangs correctly on a 158 cm frame and a 180 cm one.

Answered bluntly
The questions
you were about
to close the
tab over.
Will all that volume make me look pregnant?
Honest answer: it depends entirely on the back tie, which is why the tie exists. Left fully loose, the trapeze reads as pure tent. Drawn in at the centre back it creates a defined line behind you while the front still falls clear of the stomach — the effect is long and columnar, not rounded. Tighten it, add a flat sandal, and the vertical drape does the rest. If it isn't doing that on your frame, return it inside 30 days.
Is the light colourway see-through in sunlight?
No — and we shot it in full midday sun against a dark background specifically so you could check. The weave is dense enough to stay opaque in direct light. For total peace of mind in hard backlight, nude underwear removes any doubt, which is true of every white garment ever made.
Can I wear a bra with an open back?
Not a conventional one, and it isn't designed for one. The straps sit wide and the neckline gathers generously, so adhesive cups work cleanly, as does nothing at all. Most customers wear it with nothing and report the gathered front gives more coverage than the photographs suggest.
How long is it? Will I trip on the hem?
Cut to graze the floor on a 170 cm frame in flat sandals. Under 165 cm, expect it to pool slightly — a low wedge solves it and looks better anyway. Above 178 cm it reads as a clean ankle-skimmer. Because the hem is cut on-grain it stays level all the way round rather than dipping at the back.
Will it survive a suitcase?
Better than structured cotton. It packs to almost nothing, and because the volume is unstructured, creases hang out on the body within about fifteen minutes of wear. No iron, no steamer, no tissue paper.
How fast does it ship, and will it arrive before my trip?
Orders are processed within 24 hours on business days and every parcel ships with tracking you receive by email. If you are ordering against a departure date, order at least two weeks out and reply to your confirmation email — departure-dated orders get prioritised.
What if it just doesn't suit me?
Send it back within 30 days in original condition. No essay required, no restocking charge, no interrogation about why. A dress you feel wrong in is worth nothing to either of us.

Wore it four days out of seven in Crete
I packed three other dresses and barely touched them. It was 36 degrees and this was the only thing that didn't stick to me. The back tie is the whole trick — pulled tight it actually gives you a shape instead of hanging like a sack. Two separate women stopped me to ask where it was from.

First thing post-baby I've felt myself in
Nothing sits on my stomach and there's no waistband cutting in. I was worried it would read maternity but it genuinely doesn't — it hangs straight down and reads long. I've since ordered the chalk one.

Beautiful, but read the length note
I'm 161 cm and it does pool at the front in flats, so I wear it with a small wedge and it's perfect. Four stars only because I wish there was a petite length. Fabric and colour are far better than I expected — the cobalt hasn't faded after three washes.

The white is not see-through
This was my only hesitation and I checked in the harshest light I could find. It's opaque. I wear nude underwear with it and there is nothing to see. Also came out of the suitcase creased and was smooth within twenty minutes.

Took me a day to work out the tie
First wear I left the drawstring loose and thought it was too much fabric. Then I tied it properly and it completely changed — suddenly it had a line. Worth knowing before you decide. Delivery took nine days to the UK which is the only real mark against it.

Hot flushes, meet your solution
Nothing tight anywhere. No sleeves, no band, no lining. I've worn it to two garden parties and a christening and nobody would guess it's the most comfortable thing I own. Ordering the citron next.

I'm a size 18 and it reads elegant, not tent
This is the part I want other women to hear. It does not cling and it does not balloon. The vertical fall does something genuinely flattering and I did not have to wear anything underneath to hold myself in.

Finally, no bra conversation
The straps sit wide enough and the front gathers enough that I wear stick-ons and forget about it. The back is lower than I expected but it stops at exactly the right place — I wore it to a wedding and it was fine.

Arrived four days before we flew
I emailed about our departure date and it was moved up. Tracking worked the whole way. It's now the dress I photograph best in, which I did not see coming from something this comfortable.
